Not-For-Profit Case Studies

Since we began as an agency back in 2008, we have worked closely with not-for-profit organisations on numerous occasions, helping them achieve their goals and further their causes through an effective combination of digital marketing insight, education, and delivery.

Our non-profit digital marketing success stories

While our impressive range of expertly crafted digital marketing services make up the majority of our support for these organisations, we also make it our mission to forge meaningful connections with these charities for long-term partnerships. Using our strengths and digital marketing services to empower organisations and amplify their causes is something we are extremely passionate about.

As an example, over the years we have connected plenty of charities to the relevant resources and grants available to them that they may not otherwise have known about or been able to benefit from.

Take a look at some of our greatest not-for-profit marketing success stories below.

Wild results for The Aspinall Foundation

The client & our approach

The Aspinall Foundation runs two animal park experiences in the Kent area, Howletts and the safari park Port Lympne. As well as offering short breaks and wedding events, the foundation is a fully-fledged charity working to halt the extinction of endangered species, returning them to the wild where possible – something that all their services and offerings help to raise funds for.

During our work with The Aspinall Foundation, the objective of our campaign was to use search marketing to increase park ticket bookings for the summer period in a relatively short timescale. In fact, we started this project just a couple of months before the start of the summer holiday period.

Whilst working to build their digital presence, we provided the following services: Pay Per Click (PPC), paid social media (Facebook), and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).

During the short time frame in which we had to deliver this project, we were able to see some GIANT results. Just a few of the highlights from our work with The Aspinall Foundation include:

PPC & Paid Social

  • 153% increase in paid sessions YoY – PPC
  • 78% increase in day tickets sold – Paid Social
  • 1280% increase in short break bookings – PPC

Organic & SEO

  • 253% increase in short break bookings – SEO
  • 36% Increase in day tickets sold – Organic

We also formed a great working relationship with the Marketing team there, as the testimonial from Digital Marketing Manager, Jonathan Buckingham-Dudley, below spells out:

“The team at Sleeping Giant Media quickly became like an extension of the team here at The Aspinall Foundation. They have been flexible, hard-working, and have supported us in delivering fantastic growth in the reach and performance of our campaigns.”

Getting best-in-show for Guide Dogs

The goal

Guide Dogs For The Blind had some challenges with their paid accounts over the past couple of years, so they approached us to help run and manage their online shop’s PPC Performance.

The goal was to maximise revenue and improve ROAS as much as possible through Google Shopping Campaigns.

The key has been a strong build of the account and automated bidding strategies so far. We understand the importance of machine learning, allowing Google to pick and choose when to show our ads to the ideal users — and put this into practice for Guide Dogs. We also increased the target ROAS strategically each week to match current ROAS performance.

As a result of our PPC strategy, we managed to obtain some excellent results even in the first 30 days. We saw ROAS increase to 306% — and then to 365% in the first 45 days.

Let’s hone in on a few more specific metrics* below:

  • +10,806% increase in impressions
  • +95% increase in clicks
  • +192% in transactional conversions
  • +4027% increase in revenue

*Note: The above stats compare 2022 to 2020 as the client wasn’t running ads within the same date period in 2021.

A helping hand for Heart of Kent Hospice

The approach

As a registered charity, Heart of Kent Hospice benefits from a Google PPC Grant account, which we built, optimised, and then set up different targeted campaigns for.

Their main objective was to generate donations and ensure that the full grant amount was optimised for each month.

Since we started working with them in 2021, we’ve seen strong year-on-year increases in core metrics across the board. To highlight just a few of our key wins:

  • + 138% YoY increase in PPC impressions
  • +75% YoY increase in PPC conversions
  • +129% YoY increase in PPC clicks.
