Google will block third-party cookies from Chrome in 2022, and you need to be prepared for the changes…
This shouldn’t be news to you as a concept, in fact, many other browsers have done it over time, and the news from Google about their move to block the third-party cookie has been about for some years now.
However, there are many out there with a digital presence who are not yet prepared for the loss of this dataset.
This is a giant step forward in terms of privacy, but also a bit of a knock for the advertising industry. Google will now look to stop Chrome browsers from collecting the cookie that allows advertising to target based on an individual users’ browsing habits – although will still track and target users on mobile devices and target ads to people based on their behaviour on Google-owned platforms.
So, how can digital advertisers prepare for this change?
We, alongside other European agencies, part of the Dall International Alliance, got together to write up an extensive whitepaper to share insight and advice on this move into a cookie-less era.
We won’t spoil it… it’s a good read, so click below to download the paper.
