Giants at Google Premier Partners Accelerate Weekend

This weekend saw two of our Giants, Justine Robson and Sean O’Donoghue, jet off to sunny Ireland for the Google Premier Partners Accelerate conference and awards. They had an amazing weekend, full of tech know-how, Google swag and infamous Irish hospitality – and perhaps a little Guinness or two, of course.

During the conference itself, there was tons of thought-provoking content on the future of digital marketing, and the effects that the post-digital era could bring. It’s exciting to think what that looks like, including the focus on targeting people “in the moment”, instead of any kind of mass media approach. For Sleeping Giant Media, as a Google Premier Partner, it was exciting to think about what we need to do as agencies to adapt to that change of pace.

One of the key takeaways for Justine, our Head of Client Services, was around the need to be disruptive in the work we do for our clients. And to move fast. Things are changing at such a pace now that you have to be disruptive to remain agile, which is what we need to keep in mind in order to continue to develop great results for our clients.

Then, for the awards themselves. September 7th saw Europe, Middle East and Africa award winners announced at Google Partners Accelerate in Dublin, with the Giants enjoying a cracking awards ceremony. Hosted at Mansion House, an epic venue in the city, the evening was filled with great people, amazing food and drink – and a LOT of confetti. Plus, we were shortlisted for the Growing Businesses Online Award – which is pretty exciting! Check out how super smart and glorious our Giants look – aren’t they cute!

Overall the Giants had an amazing weekend in Dublin, hanging out with all of the Google Premier Partners – and we can’t wait to be back again soon. Congratulations to all of the evening’s winners!
