It’s time for our second Google+ video of 2014, and 11 out of 13 in our series. If you have missed any of our previous Google+ videos you can find the whole YouTube playlist here.

In this video, Luke talks about how Google Plus Communities can be used. I personally love communities because you can easily find one to match your interests, or you can create your own really simply.

Video Synopsis

Luke starts by saying that Google+ Communities can be used in a number of different ways.

Firstly, it’s a great way to communicate with similar people, whith people who are experiencing similar problems, have similar questions, and so forth.

In the long term, as an advertiser, you may potentially have the ability to target some of those communities once Google start to monetise the platform. For example, if your business makes photographic software, you could target photographic communities with relevant advertising. This will allow you to segment your audience and create really targeted campaigns.

Luke thinks that’s one of the fundamental reasons for Google to set up the communities. It is a great source of information and you can share relevant things to make the whole interface more intuitive and interesting, however, in the long term it could be a really good advertising platform where you’ll be able to segment and as an advertiser you should be able to get better results from it.
