The Client

Morgan Jones are a recruitment agency with offices based in Kent and London. They recruit for both temporary and permanent roles, are are dedicated to providing first class services to both their clients and candidates.

The recruitment agency are multi-sector and offer a tailored, flexible recruitment service with in-house, dedicated teams recruiting every level from Senior Management to Graduate positions.

The Brief

Morgan Jones tasked Sleeping Giant Media with using Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to increase their web traffic and, subsequently, the number of job hunters using their website to search for job opportunities. SEO is all about improving a sites ranking on search engine results pages (SERPs). The higher a sites ranking, the more visitors that site will receive.

The Campaign

In order to focus the SEO campaign, Sleeping Giant Media started with a pay per click (PPC) pilot campaign to learn which keywords drove the most traffic. A PPC campaign is quick and easy to set up and an invaluable tool to ensure that we focus the SEO campaign on relevant keywords. The PPC pilot campaign helped Morgan Jones to understand what people are searching for. SEO is a long term strategy so it’s important that the focus is in the right place.

The client implemented Sleeping Giant Media’s SEO best practice recommendations, such as optimising page titles and link building, and were able to bring their site up to speed. This resulted in a very positive impact, seen within just a few months.

Whilst the work the agency did on on and off page SEO had a big impact, there was an impending Google update that would see an increase in focus on site content. Because of this, it was suggested that Morgan Jones restructured their website and moved to a WordPress content management system (CMS). This move brought their site up-to-date and made it easier for them to edit and update content themselves. Being able to update content regularly is important, as recent and relevance are major search engine ranking factors. The site restructure enables a more SEO-friendly structure, improving the site navigation and allowing scope to build additional pages in the future.

Sleeping Giant Media gave Morgan Jones a helping hand when transitioning their site, taking into consideration recent algorithm changes and, additionally, provided social media consultancy, giving the Morgan Jones in-house marketing teams advice for effective social media marketing.

The implementation of Sleeping Giant Media’s SEO recommendations has provided Morgan Jones with a massive growth in traffic. After six months their organic traffic was up a GIANT 251% with the average visit duration increasing by 16%. It also saw new visitors to the website up by 15%. On a really high volume, competitive London term, Morgan Jones started to see traffic, and lots of it!
